A friend asked me to make an 18th birthday card for a young man who is interested in astronomy. This is what I came up with. The planet is cut from "Everyday Paper Dolls", and the lettering from "Plantin Schoolbook".

Nose to Nose
I just love this new (well, new to me!) stamp by Penny Black. Again, a not for anything particular card, but I am quite pleased at the way it has turned out!
Eighteen
This is for my husband's nephew who will be 18 in a few weeks (it only seems like five minutes ago that I was making a card for his 15th!!). The letters are from "Plantin Schoolbook" and I welded their shadows using my Gypsy, and then layered the regular letters on top.

Happy Birthday Rob....
A friend asked me to make card for her son-in-law, incorporating his two interests of gig boat rowing. And motorbikes. This is what I came up with.

Welcome Jessica Mabel
My friend Ruth has just adopted a new dog from some people who are emigrating to Australia, and Ruth is ecstatic....she thought we ought to have a doggy version of a baby shower, but I have drawn the line at a welcome card. The dog is called Jessie, which Ruth has already converted to Jessica Mabel (I have no idea why a dog needs a middle name!) Anyway, we met Jessica Mabel for the first time, and she was very friendly and sprightly, and certainly didn't look her age.......she will be 17 next month.
I used the lovely Penny Black stamp "Nose to Nose" to make the card.....it doesn't look anything like Jessica......she is a Jack Russell, but it is such a nice image!!!
