A black bicycle and a garden shed!!

More and more people are asking me to make very specific birthday cards. This is for a colleague, who wanted one with a garden shed and a black bike on it! I cut the bike from Sweethearts (a tandem carefully snipped apart and re-glued!), the pots and watering can from Walk in my Garden, and the shed is actually a dog kennel from Nate's ABC!

Happy Birthday Mother....

A colleague at work asked me to make a card for her mother-in-law. Apparently she likes flowers, which  meant that it was a very easy card to make. The flowers and the pot are all cut from the "Walk in my Garden" cartridge.

Just for You....

My manager is leaving next week, and she has been really good to me over the years that I have known her. I was inspired to make this by a card I saw on Pinterest. I cut the pot from "Walk in my Garden", and the flowers from "Serenade".

Following some help from Donna Mundinger!!!

I love the fantastic carsds that Donna makes (check out her blog..Popsicle Toes!), and she recently very kindly gave me some instructions about welding more than one shape and creating matching card backs and fronts. This is what she enabled me to make!!

It is simple, but I'm happy with it!! All of the cuts are from Walk in My Garden.

Happy Birtday Olive!

This is for my mum's neighbour who will be 8o next week. The pot and flowers are from Walk in My Garden, and the ribbon is from Sweethearts. I attached the larger set of tulips directly to the card, and the smaller set to the back of the pot. I used foam pads between the two to give dimension.

Ladybird

The ladybird, and the flowers on the inside of the card are cut from Walk in My Garden. I welded them together in Design Studio with a square and some grass from Zooballoo. It is layered up with some foam pads to add dimension. A little bit of doodling seems to really make things stand out.

Where's that cat????

This was a result of much head-shaking and tutting, as I really don't make cat cards!! I'm really not keen on any of the ones on Doodlecharms or Animal Kingdom, so settled for this one from A Child's Year. It seemed to be made to stroll amongst the flowers...which were all cut from Walk in my Garden.

Good Luck

The Trellis was cut from Wild Card ( stretched a little in Design Studio to make it square).
The flowers are cut from Walk in my Garden, and the watering can is from A Child's Year. I doodled a little with a gold gel pen to add definition.

Be Happy

I love the shaped cards that so many clever people are making, so I decided to give it a go!! I welded the shadow of the hive from Walk in my Garden together and added the shadows of some bees. Then I added the upper layers. I cut the sentiment in shadow twice, and non-shadow once to add some dimension. I added some doodling in my new white gel pen which I love so much!!

Thanks a Bunch!!! now with template

These are the measurements for creating this vase card. The card itself measures 8 x 5.5 inches. Hopefully you can see the other dimensions marked on the card. The dotted lines indicate where it should be scored, and the solid lines (i.e A through B and C to D) are where you need to cut. Basically you need to valley fold the central line (marked as 3.5 inches) and then valley fold the left hand scored line for the vase, mountain fold the central one and valley fold the right hand one. The flowers are cut at 1.5 inches and 2 inches. I stuck them onto hand cut stems, and then glued one to the back of the card, and then two on the inside of the vase front. I added some hand cut green leaves.I then stuck the whole thing into a card measuring 8.25 inches x 6.25 inches. Obviously you can then embellish it as you wish.

I hope you can follow this...it is much easier to do than to put into words!! feel free to leave a message if you get stuck, and I will try to help some more!!

I saw a card similar to this in a book (Paper Pop Up by Dorothy Wood), and decided to have a go. The flowers are cut from Accent Essentials, and the sentiment is from Walk in my Garden. I cut the stems and leaves by hand.

Happy Mother's Day, from the dog!!

ABC challenge

This week's challenge is to make a card in brown and blue. I used some paper that I have had for ages. Flowers cut from Walk in my garden. the ribbon (which is too shiny to see in the photo) says birthday, birthday across it.
