Happy Birthday Kapil....

A colleague at work asked me to make a light-hearted birthday card for her boyfriend who is a chef. These stamps from the Penny Black "What's cooking?" set seemed perfect!!

Great Granny...

A colleague asked me to make a card for her two small sons to send to their Great Granny. Apparently she loves flowers and her garden, but isn't "pink and flowery" (if you follow). I used a Woodware stamp to make this, and layered some of the flowers.
Card making has been a bit tricky over the last few days, as we suddenly found ourselves the owner of a 5 month old Springer Spaniel puppy. He is called Charlie but "Chaos" would probably be more fitting! Anyhow I have to wait until he has played and played so much that he has fallen off to sleep before I can get much done!

New grandson

Some friends of mine recently became grandparents for the very first time, when their son and his wife had a baby boy on Christmas Day. This lovely Penny Black stamp seemed ideal to make them a congratulations card.

Valentine's cards

I take a few cards that I have made to work, and leave them for sale in the staff kitchen area. I give half of the money I take to Cancer Research. These are the first of a few Valentine's cards that I will take in.....all made with lovely Penny Black stamps of course!!

Welcome Sally

My friend Sally is coming to join the team that I work in, and I promised her that if she applied for the post I would bake a cake and make some bunting for her first day.......I didn't feel I could inflict bunting on the whole office, so I made this to stand on her desk. It is only about 12 inches high!! I had to enlist my husband into solving how I could make it stand up, and he suggested bottle tops filled with blu-tack. So.....the uprights are barbecue skewers covered in ribbon, these are pushed into blu-tack which is between two plastic milk bottle tops which I have covered in card, buttons and gems. I cut the flags from "Birthday Bash".........now I just have to bake the cake!!
