Spellbinders ornament dies

Yet another set of new dies. I have combined this one with a pretty embossing  folder .

Free embossing folder

This embossing folder came free with a magazine, and I am pleased with the way it has worked out here'

Create a card die

Oh dear.......new dies rather seem to be a bit of a theme with me at the moment!! This is a "create a card" die by crafters companion, and I'm afraid that once again I just had to have it!!! I have used it to cut and emboss and then sponged some pearlescent inks through the stencil to create this effect. Then I added the memory box die across the bottom.

New sizzix die.

I saw some sample cards made using this die and just fell in love with it!!

New spellbinders die

As soon as I saw this new die I just had to have it......I have made several cards like this, and I am really pleased with the way they have turned out!!

Ukelele birthday

A colleague asked me to make a card for her partner's 50th birthday, and said that he is learning to play the ukulele! I had to look them up online to see what they looked like, and have to confess that I was surprised to see that they are very much like a small guitar!! I was inspired by a card I found here:
And this is my take on it!

Hot chocolate and marshmallows!

A colleague at work asked me to "disguise" a jar of drinking chocolate and a bag of marshmallows that her young daughter has asked for as part of her Christmas presents. This is what I managed!

Modern Art

My friend Diane asked me to make a card for her grandaughter who will be 16 at the end of the month. She told me that she is quite a "way out " girl who likes modern art. This is the best I could come up with!! The stamp is a lovely Penny Black one. Diane always wants the person's name, age and date of their birthday on the card......not what I would do, but she is the customer!!!

High heels......

A colleague of mine is leaving in a couple of weeks and I have been tasked with making a card for the occasion. As she is famed for her high heels, this cut from "Gypsy Wanderings" seemed the most appropriate thing to use!!

Happy Birthday Esme

A colleague asked me to make a card for Esme who will soon be three. The only requirement was that it included a picture of a cat.....time to turn to a lovely Penny Black stamp!

Formula One...

A friend asked me to make a 50th birthday card for husband who is a fan of Formula One racing. My friend has extremely limited sight so always likes cards to be bright and clear. I struggled to find an image, and ended up using some children's colouring-in images!!

Halloween Goody Bags

My husband bought me some Halloween stickers from a well known discount supermarket, so I felt challenged to make something with them! I used the "Tags, bags, boxes and more" cartridge to cut these little bags, and filled them with fun-size chocloate bars!!

Time for tea

A colleague asked me to make a card for her secretary who is retiring soon. She was most specific that it needed to have a garden theme, have a teapot with two cups and saucers and say "time for tea" on it. Always keen to please, this is what I came up with!!

50th birthday

A friend asked me to make a birthday card for her son's 50th birthday. She told me that he liked to teach pottery, to buy and sell silver jewellery, and works in "radiation protection"........the pottery really seemed like my best bet!!!

Fly high....

My husband's nephew will be 19 next week, and I used some lovely Woodware stamps to make this card for him.

With thanks from Wilson

My friend Lynn asked me to make two thank you cards from her dog Wilson (she is going away for a fortnight and he is staying with her parents for a week, and then her partner's parents for a week). She gave me some pictures of Wilson, and this is what I came up with!

Hello Hannah

A colleague asked me to make a card for her friends daughter who is just 4 and has been diagnosed with leukaemia. She asked that it was bright and cheerful and included a teddy. I cut the bear from the "Christmas" cartridge.

Happy Anniversary

A colleague at work asked me to make an anniversary card for her husband. She was very specific that she wanted the two of them on it with their two black dogs and their pet duck! I cut the people from "Paper Dolls", the dogs from "Animal Kingdom" and I think the duck was from "A child's year".

Buddy

My friend Audrey asked me to make a christening card for her grandson. She said that he is very bouncy, so anything with "tigger" on would be perfect. I took her at her word, and used the "Pooh & Friends" cartridge to cut the tigger for this card!

New Lilli of the Valley stamp

I went to the artstamps fair at Newbury last weekend (we were in the area for a wedding!), and there was a "Lilli of the Valley" stall.......well.......several stamps and paper pads later, I was able to move on to the rest if the show. This is the first that I have used.....a birthday card for my friend Wendy, and a spare!!

New hobby art stamp

A friend asked me to make a new baby card, and this new stamp by Hobby Art seemed perfect (I only bought it today). Although the baby is apparently going to be a girl I made one for a boy.....just in case!!

Happy Birthday Auntie Betty

My aunt will be 80 in just a few weeks, and as she is a keen gardener, a floral "card in a box"seemed ideal!

Tuesday, 24 June 2014

Thank you

A colleague asked me to make a card to thank a friend who has been doing some gardening for her. I used "Freshly Picked" to create this card.

Thirty!

A colleague at work will be thirty at the weekend, so I made this card for all of our team to sign. I was inspired by a card that I found here; http://scrapbookingandbeyondwithchristina.blogspot.co.uk/2011/03/happy-birthday-card.html

Just for U

This is a new Woodware stamp, (well, new to me, I only bought it a few days ago), and it seemed just the thing to make a card for my brother-in-law. I paper pieced the letters, matted and layered it, and then added a few doodles to match those on the stamp.

Wedding card in a box

My husband's cousin is getting married next month, so this seemed an ideal opportunity to make another card in a box!

Card in a box!

I have seen lots of these cards at shows and on the internet, so I just had to try one. This is for my mother-in-law who has her 70th birthday in a couple of weeks.

Thanks Pawfully!!

My friend Lynn asked me to make a Thankyou card for her dog to send to some friends who had looked after him recently. She gave me a photo to use in the card, and this is what I made. Her dog is the smaller of the two. He is called Winston, and he is a "Puggle", which is apparently a cross between a pug and a beagle!!

Post-it note prizes!!

The team I work with are having a "team development" day next week, and in an attempt to make it a bit less dry, I said that I would provide prizes for the group that present in the most creative way. As the theme is creativity, I thought it only fitting to make the prizes!! So......I have made a bunch of "Post-it" notebooks ( I needed some to be suitable for women, and some for men), so these are what I have made!!......

A Glitzy Birthday

My mum's friend asked me to make a card for her sister who will be 80, but is apparently young for her years and loves glitzy things (no more information than that was forthcoming.....so I'm not sure what kind of glitzy things!)
This was the best I could come up with, so I hope it suits!!

100th Birthday

My mum's friend Gladys is going to be 100 on May 12th. She has so many friends that she is having a tea party at a local hotel, and my mum is delighted to be going! I used a new Woodware stamp to make this card for Gladys.

Happy 1st Birthday....

10th birthday

My husband's nephew will be 10 at the weekend (only seems a moment ago that he was born!), so I made him this card.Star and numbers are cut from "Plantin Schoolbook".

Happy Birthday Debs

A friend asked me to make a crad for her daughter who apparently loves cats and flowers......this Penny Black stamp seemed to fit the bill perfectly. Debs has a severe visual impairment, so I have tried to make the card high contrast so that she can see it as well as possible.

Three quick cards!!

I have made 3 very quick cards this Easter weekend. Two use a lovely rabbit from the Penny Black "Garden Critters" set, and the third is a "Funstamps" stamp, which I find really useful for men's cards.
