Pearls of Wisdom

My colleague and friend Laura is expecting her first baby in November. We are having a baby shower for her and this is one of the ideas that I found online. Basically you give each of the guests a tag on which to write a "pearl of wisdom" and then you tie them onto the wreath. (My friend Penny says that she is going to write just buy plenty of calpol on her tag!).

I cut the hearts from "Doodlecharms" and the rattles and nappy pins are from "New Arrival". The lettering is cut from Nursery Rhymes.

This is a card for a colleague who is retiring, and is known and loved by many, many people. I was asked to make a "giant" card for him as loads of people will want to sign it. This measures 8 inches by 32 inches, so I hope it is big enough! I cut the boats from "New Arrival", and the lettering from "Plantin Schoolbook". No particular reason for the sea scene, just that we live and work in a seaside town.

Congratulations

Finally, this is the card for my friend to send to her granddaughter's family on the birth of their new baby. The outfit is cut from "New Arrival". 

Good bye and....

We have had an agency social worker with our team for the last few months, and everyone has grown to really like him. Our office is next door to the railway line, and this chap has never got used to the trains sounding their horns ( somehow I think they are something more sophisticated than horns but I can't think what else to call them!!). Each time we have a team meeting it is everyone's greatest delight to watch him leap about a foot in the air each time a train goes by! So....a card with a train on seemed the most appropriate thing to make! The train is cut from the "New Arrival" cartridge.

This is for a colleague who has just had twin girls. I cut the prams from "New Arrival".

A nautical theme

Kai's great-grandmother asked me to make a card with a nautical theme for his first birthday, and this is what I came up with. The boat is from New Arrival, the fish from Life's A Beach, the waves from Zooballoo, the font from Plantin Schoolbook, and the sun from Pooh and Friends...phew!!!

Train shaped cards!

I used the train from the New Arrival crtridge, and welded it in Design Studio to make this shaped card.

Put your feet up Lynne.....

I made this especially for my friend Lynne. The feet are from New Arrival, and the font is from Nursery Rhymes....I just hope that she does as she's told!!!!

By the Seaside

This is a combination of a new stamp, and some cricut cuts. The sun is from Doodlecharms, the waves are from Plantin Schoolbook, and the boat is from New Arrival. It is for my husband's step-father, so I included his initials on the sail!!

Baby Girl / Boy

I used some of the lovely papermania scalloped cards as the base for these. The scalloped circle is from Storybook, and the pram is cut from New Arrival.

I'm really pleased with this one!! The plane, clouds and banners are from New Arrival, the lettering is from Mickey Font, and the grass is from Plantin Schoolbook.

Two little ducks....

I made this for someone who is going to be 22. It was made at speed, so not very fancy, but I couldn't resist the bingo pun! The greeting is from "Beyond Birthdays", and the ducks are from "New Arrival".

A multi-purpose card!!

This is for some friends who set off next week to go travelling until January. It covers all the eveents until we see them next. I enjoyed making it, and hopefully they'll think it's fun!!!

The plane is from New Arrival, the witch is from A Child's Year, and the Santa hat is from Joys of the Season. I used my cuttlebug to do some embossing too!!

Baby Girl

Each time I make a card I try to add some embellishments, rather than just the cut items. It seems to get easier, and I am pleased with the button and ribbons on this one. The image is cut from New Arrival.
